Oh the joys of technology. One minute it is the best thing in the world and i cannot live without it, then the next I'm ready to smash whatever it is against the wall.
I really enjoy podcast, they get the point a crossed and students can control what is said at their own pace. If a student missed something, they can rewind it, and repeat what was just said. Making the podcast was a little annoying because the computers setting would not allow me to upload the pictures on the file. The computer made it difficult to use because the setting didn't allow us to use certain features that would make the podcast cool. Too see if i could make a different podcast work, Rachel from class was absent the day we started these so I helped her work through this process, and the computer did the exact same thing. It would only save the sound, but not the images. Rachel's page has our podcast because it would only upload to her page and not mine. Its a live and learn process of the world, maybe next time the computer will let use use it to make the podcast a little more interesting.
On the plus side, podcast are really useful. I like the idea of having a little bit of information available to your students. This makes it easier to define ideas, make projects, and teach a whole class how to use a program. The thing I like the most I already stated. That EVERY STUDENT CAN WORK AT HIS/HER OWN PACE. This is simply amazing, I mean could you really find a better way to teach differentiation. The answer is yes. PODCASTS>
